3c. Identify gaps in students' subject matter knowledge.
As not all students learn at the same pace, it is important to identify where our students are individually. One of the most effective ways to determine these knowledge gaps is through the use of pre-tests. These data collection tools allow educators to assess their students' background knowledge and facilitate more comprehensive lesson planning. During my final internship, I completed a series of pre-tests to determine my students' understanding of three content specific areas; gravity, double-digit addition with regrouping, and good and services. I used the information I obtained from these pre-tests to plan more targeted, hands-on instructional lessons.
