4e. Shares the importance and outcomes of student assessment data with the student and the student's parent/caregiver(s). Educators track their students' data throughout the course of the year. It is important that the teacher and the students see how much growth they have achieved. However, we cannot forget the importance of including parents/ caregivers in this process. Most parents are concerned with their child's educational outcomes and success in the classroom. One of the ways that my mentor and I share this data with our students' parents is through their Student Data Binders. This binder is a compilation of the students' best work and all of their summative assessments. The use of these binders keeps our parents apprised of what is going on in our classroom. Another way we share this data with our parents is through a Student Led Conference. Earlier this quarter, students brought in their families to show off their hard work and take them on a tour of our classroom. It was quite rewarding to see the students show off their hard work with pride.
