3h. Differentiate instruction based on an assessment of student learning needs and recognition of individual differences in students.
Analyzing assessment data can provide much needed insights into the learning needs of our students. With this acquired data, educators can differentiate their instruction to meet the individual needs of their learners. During my final internship, I critically analyzed pre-test data for my English Language Learners and my students with exceptionalities. I, then, explicitly planned lessons that were hands-on and interactive. During the execution of the lessons, I kept a close eye on the aforementioned students to ensure all of their needs were being met. By using this targeted approach, I saw a great deal of improvement in these students and have more confidence in my abilities to successfully differentiate instruction in the future.
